General

🌽 / Corn — What’s with all the corn emojis? In Japanese, the onomatopoeia for a fox’s bark is “kon-kon.” When elongated into a howl, “kooon!” sounds a lot like “corn.” As a result, corn has become Fubuki’s representative emoji, and frequent corn puns appear in her stream chat. These include greetings and farewells, such as “cornnichiwa” (🌽にちは) for “hello” and “otsucorn” (おつ🌽) for “good job / goodbye.”
Mama Mito — Fubuki’s character designer, Nagishiro Mito. The “mother” (father?) who “gave birth to” (drew?) Fubuki.
Sukon — A combination of “suko,” net slang for “like,” and “kon-kon,” a fox’s bark. It’s (according to Fubuki) how a fox says “I love it!” Often said at the start of her streams.
Sukonbu / Sukon Club — The official collective name for Fubuki fans. “Sukonbu” also means “vinegar kelp,” which leads to adorable puns.
Tea / Tea leaves — Fubuki loves tea, and posts (almost?) daily tea recommendations on Twitter. “Tea leaves” requires a bit more explanation. The Japanese version of “lol” is just the letter “w” (which stands for “warau”, meaning “laugh”). When you laugh a lot, you get wwwwwwww, which kind of looks like grass, so people started saying they “grew grass” or just “grass” (草) to mean “lol.” Since Fubuki likes tea so much, her fans started saying they “grew tea leaves” (茶葉) instead.

Fubuki-kun — One day, Fubuki decided to play with a voice changer. All of the Sukon Club instantly turned into screaming fangirls.
Intelligent Unicorn — A talking ear of corn (largely indistinguishable from the corn emoji) who is also the “vice club president” of the Sukon Club (see below). Usually sits quietly in the corner of Fubuki’s streams, and occasionally tweets things for her (usually without her approval). The name comes from corn (obviously), and Gundam Unicorn. Fubuki is well-versed in both mecha anime and internet memes, and the famous Gundam UC music is both.
Kurokami-sama / Kuro-chan — If Shirakami Fubuki is the “light” personality (“shira” means “white”), then Fubuki’s “dark side” is represented by Kurokami Fubuki (“kuro” means “black”). This alter ego, with a lower voice and sharp tongue, appears only on rare occasions (and sometimes when Fubuki sings a song that doesn’t work with her usual register).

かわいい — “You’re cute”: If everyone spams it enough, Fubuki will get embarrassed and hide.
エロ狐 — “Perverted fox”: Fubuki has generally maintained a pretty innocent image, but every so often (like, twice a stream) she says something dirty or that can be construed as dirty. Maybe she’s not so pure after all…?
さすフブ — “Way to go, Fubuki / Good ol’ Fubuki”: Not exclusive to Fubuki, but common among other VTubers as well (possibly just general net slang?). Use it whenever you’re impressed by Fubuki (should be often).
〇〇きーつね — “[adjective] fooox!”: Fill in the blank with whatever adjective fits the situation. The most common ones are 有能きーつね for “skilled / competent fox” and やらかしきーつね for “the fox messed up!”
猫→狐じゃい！ — “cat” → “I’m a fox!”: Fubuki frequently says “nya” like a cat, so her fans often tease her by saying she’s a cat. Her obligatory response is “I’m a fox!” using the same wording as Mononobe Alice when she insists that she’s a high schooler.

Gomadare~ — Means “sesame sauce.” Also, the unofficial “lyrics” of the treasure chest jingle from Zelda. Feel free to paste a ごまだれ〜 in chat whenever Fubuki scores a chest.

Consommé — In Japanese, “infection” is “kansen,” and a fox’s bark is “kon-kon.” Because of this, Fubuki decided to name her first bacteria “konsen.” However, the character for “sen” can also be pronounced “some,” so the “konsen” bacteria became “consommé,” a popular potato chip flavor in Japan.
